Healey has been a teacher, athletic director, and Varsity softball coach at Williamsburg High School. Healey graduated from WHS in 1977. He graduated from Wilmington College in 1982, and received his Masters degree at Asuza Pacific University in 1989. At the completion of college he proudly joined the United States Marine Corps to serve his country from 1983-1987. After the Marine Corps, he began his teaching and softball coaching career at Norte Vista High School in Riverside, California. After teaching for ten years in California, Healey returned home to Williamsburg in 1997 to begin his softball coaching career at his alma mater. During this time, the Wildcats have compiled 321 wins, 10 SBAAC league championships, 13 sectional championships, 5 district championships, 2 regional championships, 2 trips to the final four at Firestone Stadium, and in 2017 the extreme blessing of a state championship.
Over these years Rick has had the honor and blessing of being name SBAAC Coach of the Year 9 times, Southwest District Coach of the Year twice, and Cincinnati Enquirer Coach of the Year 3 times. In 2021, the Williamsburg Wildcats finished on top of the OHSFSCA D-3 team state polls. Coach Healey has had the distinct privilege of coaching 2 Ohio Gatorade Players of the Year.
When he is not coaching, Mr. Healey is a devout Christian, and an avid hunter who loves spending time in the great outdoors, riding bikes or taking long walks with his wife, Karen, to which he attributes much of his success.
