The council comprises elected and volunteer students who work with an advisor to act as a voice for the student body. It provides students with opportunities to develop leadership skills, learn about democracy, and get involved in school affairs. Student councils plan events for student engagement to promote school spirit, plan Homecoming, participate in community outreach, and help with fundraising. The function of the student council is based upon parliamentary procedures. Ideas are presented to the council, voted upon, and confirmed by the council officers. Any student interested in leadership, organizational behavior, event planning, or becoming more involved in the school is welcome to become involved.
