Summit is our district’s facility dog, working alongside Mrs. Shelby Wright at both the Elementary and Middle/High School. Specially trained through Circle Tail and funded by a generous Purina grant, Summit provides social-emotional support to students and staff, offering comfort, encouragement, and a calming presence throughout the school day.

You might see Summit greeting students at the door, visiting classrooms to listen to readers, or helping during stressful moments. Research shows that therapy dogs can reduce anxiety, improve focus, and strengthen connections — and Summit does all of this every day with a wagging tail and gentle heart.

When she’s not busy helping students, Summit loves playing fetch, enjoying treats, and taking long naps.
