Paw Prints of Progress: Williamsburg Elementary School

progress

Williamsburg is preparing for an exciting transformation as a new Elementary School is set to open in the fall of 2027. Designed to inspire learning and growth, the school will be located in the heart of the village and offer a state-of-the-art environment for students to begin their educational journey.

As part of this project, the historic Old High School will be demolished in the winter of 2025-2026. Before demolition, the community will have opportunities to walk through the building one last time, with details on these events to come. Some elements of the old building will be incorporated into the new design, which will blend a classic exterior with a modern interior.

The beloved Community Garden will remain part of the new school grounds, with plans to relocate it to a more accessible spot. The district is working closely with the Garden Club to ensure a smooth transition for students and families.

The new facility will feature spacious classrooms, an Innovation Hub for creativity and digital literacy, a full-size gymnasium, and modern spaces designed to support 21st-century education.

For updates and information, an FAQ page has been created, and the district welcomes inquiries at [email protected]. This project marks an exciting step forward for Williamsburg as the community comes together to shape the future of education.
