Hello Wildcat Families,
I'm sending this edition of The Heartbeat of the Wildcat to all families, K-12. Please note that many of the items (such as Spirit Week) are only meant for the Middle/High School, but there are many other items within this publication that I thought everyone would be interested in.
Grade Cards were posted today! Please check your ProgressBook account to check your child's report card. If you do not have a ProgressBook Account created yet, the letters are currently processing through a mail merge, and you should receive it soon. If you do not receive an email by 5:00pm on Friday, please reach out to me at attinger_a@burgschools.org and I will send you information.
Download the Burg Schools App! Make sure that you have downloaded the Burg Schools App! There is a graphic in the Heartbeat (above) with details. To be clear, it is a white app background with a blue "W" shield (I am working on removing the other app from the stores, but it does still show as an option). All of the winter sports teams will be communicating through the app, as well as classroom teachers. Make sure that you have set your notifications to recieve them from the app so you don't miss anything! I will work on more detailed instructions next week, but if you need extra help, feel free to reach out to me. Students can also login to the app - make sure you choose "Login with Google" if you are a student and use your Burg Schools email! More details to follow.
Have a great weekend!

Hello Wildcats - Please see below for an important message from Principal Jason Tackett:
Wildcat Community,
Friday Night Football games are a highlight for our school and community, and we want everyone to enjoy the experience in a safe, positive environment. To achieve this, we’re asking for your support:
Supervision of Students: All middle school and elementary-aged students must be accompanied by an adult at the game. If children in grades Prek-8 are not accompanied by an adult, they cannot attend the game.
Expectations at Games: Once inside the stadium, students are expected to sit in the bleachers and enjoy the action on the field. Students shall not play or gather by the baseball field or other areas outside of the stands or on the visitors side of the field. Unfortunately, too many incidents are occurring with our students in grades PreK-8 in areas outside of the stands.
No Balls in the Stadium: For the safety of all fans, no balls of any kind—especially footballs—shall be brought into the stadium. If balls are seen inside, they will be confiscated and held until the end of the game.
No skateboards, bicycles, or scooters: For the safety of all fans, no skateboards, bicycles, or scooters are permitted inside the gates. If seen inside, they will be asked to leave them outside the gate.
We appreciate your help in reinforcing these expectations with your student(s) so that our Friday Night Lights remain a positive and family-friendly event for all. Let’s cheer on our Wildcats together and make our home games something the whole community can be proud of!
Thank you for your cooperation and continued support.
Go Wildcats!
Jason Tackett
Principal, Williamsburg Middle/High School
