Students in Advanced Consumer Science got creative with polymer clay, designing and crafting their own unique jewelry pieces!
A huge thank you to Dawn Paul from Ben Franklin 5-10 for visiting our classroom, sharing expertise, and generously donating all of the materials so students could make as many pieces as they wanted.
It was a fun, hands-on way to explore thermoset polymer plastics while creating something beautiful to take home!

Five Seniors delivered speeches at the Rotary this week. The Rotary placed special emphasis on the Four-Way Test, challenging students to consider Leadership, Service, or Life Experiences through a lens of truth, fairness, goodwill, and benefits to all. Great work to Sidney, Bailey, Emily, Hailey, and Abby, in representing the Wildcat Way! Thanks to the Rotary, including President, Erin Ellis, and Treasurer, Ken Butler, for giving our students this opportunity!

Students explored whether the diagonal of a square is proportional to the perimeter and area of that same square. Instead of just being told the answer, they measured side lengths, calculated perimeter and area, found the diagonal, and then graphed their data to look for patterns.
Through hands-on measuring, number crunching, and graphing, they discovered some interesting relationships (and a few surprises!) about how these measurements connect — and don’t connect.
