GROUNDS FOR GOOD

purina project

Yesterday was an absolutely incredible day for our students and our community! We were thrilled to partner with Purina for a collaborative Earth Day service project that made a huge impact across our district.

Purina generously provided 50 volunteers who teamed up with our senior students to completely revamp the landscaping at our elementary school, middle school, and high school. This was a massive undertaking that required thoughtful planning, hard work, and a whole lot of determination—and we couldn't be more proud of what was accomplished.

The day started with our students taking the lead by prepping the flower beds, clearing out old growth, and getting the spaces ready for a fresh transformation. When the Purina team arrived, the energy was contagious and the teamwork was inspiring!

One of the highlights of the day was the chance for everyone to meet Summit, our facility dog, who is proudly sponsored by Purina. Seeing Summit in action reminded us all of the unique and meaningful ways this partnership supports our students beyond the classroom.

To top it all off, Purina generously provided lunch from Snappy Tomato Pizza for their volunteers, our senior students, and all the incredible community members who helped make this project a success.

We are deeply thankful for Purina’s commitment to our students and our schools. Their support made this transformation possible, and the results speak for themselves—our campuses have never looked better!

We also want to extend heartfelt thanks to Keith Wood, Jay and Erin Ellis of Ellis Farms and Garden, Barry Henning, Morgan Eilerman, Mandy Ervin, and Mrs. Kopcha for their time, expertise, and energy. Your collaboration and care helped bring this vision to life. And of course, a huge shoutout to our amazing seniors—you showed up, worked hard, and led by example!

This student-led project wasn’t just about landscaping—it was about planting seeds of partnership and purpose within our community.

Thank you again to everyone who volunteered their time, energy, and heart. You made a lasting difference, and we are truly grateful.
