Heart & Sole is the middle school version of Girls on the Run. We focus on a girl wheel, and the connections in that wheel among social, heart, brain, spirit, and body within the individual girl and everyone else she comes in contact with. I started the Heart & Sole program at the middle school last year after seeing several years of a successful Girls on the Run program at the elementary. This program provides middle school girls with an inclusive option outside of the competitive middle school sports teams. All 6th-8th grade girls are invited and encouraged to participate. The season ended with a celebratory 5k held at Sawyer Point.
